Group A
Tonight's practice bought a whole lot of new faces to FNC - which made Group A a 20 person Grid a more interesting race for the usual Group A'ers.
R1 - Race 1 bought a lot of drama in the rolling start - Tom Waugh - Martin Gubecka with Gus Sanson right on their heels. There was hardly any contact for such a big group. Nick Sanderson had an amazing race starting last on the grid & finishing 4th. Gus had a wicked Lap time of 55.98 & won Race 1 by a big 3 seconds over Tom coming in second with Martin 3rd.
R2 - Reverse Grid of Race 1 saw Nick - Rocket Rod and Daniel Gray off the front with Tom & Gus coming up fast. There was a lot of spin outs happening. Battling for the lead was Nick - Rocket & Gus which resulted with a win for Rocket - Nick 2nd with Gus a very close 3rd - great lap times for the new comers with all mostly breaking the 1 minute barrier.
Final - Going into the final the top 4 were points away from each other. Rocket - Nick & Tom were out to get the leader Gus. As the last race came to an end Nick & Tom were fighting for 2nd whilst Rocket took out the win and the night. Congratulations to Chennelle Webber the highest placed Female. Steve Sleswick came 5th for his 1st FNC.
Better luck next time to all driver not mentioned - Hope to see you all here next week.
Group B
During the practice a fair few people speed off from the rest by getting under the 1 minute, it was a close battle for the best lap time, but coming down to it it doesn't really matter in practice.
R1 - James Ford & Jacob Mc Kay lead the pack for race 1 with the rest of the grid hunting for that prestigious position. With a best lap time of 59.19 for James he was able to keep the lead and take the win, seconds behind was Kayne Lowe with a 59.59, poor Jacob Mc Kay went back to 9th overall for race 1.
R2 - The start of race 2 saw Katie Mc Kay & Grant Wilson lead the pack in turn 1, unfortunately for them that position didn't last very long with some amazing driving from James Ford starting in last position and finishing in 3rd place right behind Ben Cooper& Ryan Spann both making it hard with under 1 minute lap times.
Final - James Ford - Ben Cooper lead things off in Final Race for the night with every one chasing hard. James unfortunately dropping to 17th leaving Ben and Ryan taking out the race, putting Ben 1st overall followed by Ryan 2nd. Best placed female was Joanne Geraghty getting 11th place.
Better luck next time to James and everyone who participated in FNC.
