Friday Night Challenge Week 4

 

 

Group A: Race 1. Terry Ayres started P1 in race one, along side him on the front row as Mitchell Burley and Blake Hogg rounding out the top three.

Ayres got a good jump off the start and held position, while Burley quickly found himself in trouble and slipping back in the pack to position 7th.

Hogg would also join him going back to pos 6th position.

The big mover of the pack was Greg Pratt coming from 5th to finish a solid 2nd, Ayres took out the win with good pace of a 1.00.94 being his fastest lap, Pratt was fastest with a 1.00.78.

 

Group B: Race 1. Daniel Brouwers started from pole along side him was Stephen Denovan.Bouwers

went backwards from the start while Tim Hodgman made a flyer of a get off in the second row to hit the lead.

The battle between Hodgman & Cauum Sanderson to take the chequered flag, Sanderson passed Hodgman with 2 laps to go and held on for the win with the fastest lap after of a 1.00.24.

 

Group C: Race 1. Cameron Bird and Luke Diffin would make up the front row for R1 group C, Bird and Diffin would hold position from the start and increased their lead on the field, a big pile up at turn 7 opened the field up.

Diffin made a mistake on the 3rd lap and didn’t recover, Ben Kimber moved up into 2nd and William Martin to 3rd, but it would be all Bird at the front monstering the field for R1 with a healthy 10 second margin on second place getter Ben Kuimber.

 

Group A: Race 2. We saw a reverse of starting position from R1 giving Michael Burke and Brendan Graham front row, Terry Ayres didn’t mess around of the back row gaining 7 positions after the first lap.

Campbell & Doyle held positions 1 & 2 for the race finishing in that order.

 

Group B: Race 2. Conrad Cowie started on pole, beside him was Joel Dimmack, Viadimir Paviov started from 6th position on the 3rd row and muscled his way threw the field for a clear win with a blistering lap time of 59.4 second’s.

 

Group C: Race 2. Luke Campbell & Niall Doyle started on the front row, Campbell struggled from the start & slipped back to 3rd, Patty Ryan come from 7th on the grid to challenge for the lead but Doyle was to lead strong & held on for victory.

Ryan set the fastest lap of a 1.00.45 but was still unable to finish the job.

 

Group A: Final. Highest points accumulated from the 2 heats gave Greg Pratt the honours of the front row, Ayres who had been quick found himself getting off row 3 and Quickly charged to the front, it became a 5 way battle between Michael Burke, T. Ayres, M. Kilcullen, Kyie Zink & Gregg Pratt.

All setting good pace & running in the 59 second region positions changed many times between 2 to 5 but at the end T. Ayres was too quick and punched good lap times all race, M Burke 2nd M Kilcullen 3rd, Kyle Zink 4th & Gregg Pratt the pole sitter rounding out the 5th.

T. Ayres 59.07, M. Burke 59.68 & Shane topping 59.89.

 

Group B:  Final. Saw Andrew McKenzie smoked the field as he had done all night McKenzie was by far the most consistent all night with a first in Heat 1 second H2 & another win in the final Sanderson finished in 2nd & Jesus Horsley in 3rd.

McKenzie 59.13 Sanderson 59.54 and Joel Dimmack 1.00.32.

 

Group C: Final. Patty Ryan & Gary Smith started on the front row with Luke Campbell and Cameron Bird behind them ready to pounce if any mistake were to be made by the front now, Ryan got the jump and had 2 kart lengths after the 1st lap. Ryan went on to win in style betting 1.00.88 while Cameron Bird who was faster by 2 thousandths of a second had to settle for 2nd. 1st P.Ryan, 3rd Niall Doyle, 4th Gary Smith rounding out the 5th was William Martin.

Niall Doyle 101.05, with 4th place at 101.08 for Gary Smith and 101.57 for William Martin.
